In year five, the children learn to play the guitar and drums. They are taught by two very talented musicians. Some children are also learning to play the steel pans and enjoy their weekly practise session.
In year five, the children continue to develop their artistic skills. They are taught art by Lydia - who is our artist-in-residence.
In the autumn term, children in years five and six are taught to express their thoughts through poetry. These sessions are taught by poets who visit our school to deliver workshops. To make poetry even more exciting, a group from each class in years five and six is selected to perform in the St Margaret's poetry competition.
Our year five children enjoy supporting the younger children at St Margaret's. During lunchtime, they volunteer their time to listen to children in key stage one read. They also help to develop their comprehension skills and confidence.
